Install Raspbian jessie into Raspberry Pi 3


On Ubuntu,

$ df -h
/dev/sdc1        60M   20M   41M  33% /media/jinny/6A3C-7884
/dev/sdc2       7.2G  4.4G  2.4G  66% /media/jinny/bb313ceb-7b4e-4d67-97af-5d6fa

Unmount /dev/sdc:

$ sudo umount /dev/sdc1
$ sudo umount /dev/sdc2

copy raspbian jessie img file to /dev/sdc:

$ sudo dd bs=4M if=2016-05-27-raspbian-jessie.img of=/dev/sdc


Desktop GUI Auto login

$ sudo raspi-config

3. Boot Options
 --> B4 Desktop Autologin : Desktop GUI, automatically logged in as 'pi' user

Install Nanum Fonts

sudo apt-get install fonts-nanum
sudo apt-get install fonts-nanum-gothic-light

On Screen Keyboard


sudo apt-get install matchbox-keyboard

Menu> Accessories> Keyboard

If the keyboard isn’t visible in the menu you can enable it by going to:

MENU > PREFERENCES > Main Menu Editor

There you will be able to enable the keyboard.

  • Hardware connection
  1. Connect the LCD to the HDMI on the Raspberry Pi board with a HDMI cable;
  2. Connect the USB Touch interface on the LCD to the USB interface on the Raspberry Pi board with a type-A-to-micro USB cable.
  • Add the following code to the end of /boot/config.txt:

sudo nano /boot/config.txt

# uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output hdmi_force_hotplug=1 #hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 max_usb_current=1 hdmi_group=2 hdmi_mode=1 hdmi_mode=87 hdmi_cvt 1024 600 60 6 0 0 0

Update Raspberry Pi

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo rpi-update
sudo branch=next rpi-update
